1.0: Introduction
The task is about vegetable pop up and interactive poster. Pop up will give a 3 dimensional characteristic of the poster and will attract the attention of the viewer. This poster is to promote about eating vegetables daily during lunch and choosing appropriate meals by interacting with poster by pressing on plates. It also contains information on nutrients and health benefits that researcher found out during research. The green light means it is a good meal with vegetables and red light will indicate the unhealthy meal without vegetables. The font used is Century Gothic with manually spaced kerning. The style of this poster is contemporary which is colourful in nature.
2.0: Ideation
2.1: Sketch
The sketch contains a inhuman carrot holding 2 dishes on his hands and asking the viewers to choose their daily lunch. Some of the sketch and drawing of vegetables are as follow:
3.0: Materials for experimentation
The materials used are LED lights (red and green), 3Volt batteries, double sided tape, mounting board, foam board, printed layout designs in synthetic A2 size, scissors, paper
3.1: Experimentation
The
researcher experiments with LED lights with batteries to find out the
positive ends and negative ends. The researcher also experiments with
different batteries like 1.5 Volt battery and 9 Volt battery to find out
the effectiveness of the light brightness. The 9V battery burned the
LED since overloading of voltage, meanwhile 1.5 battery made the light
dim. So the researcher decided to use 3Volt battery, because it was
working perfectly with LED light.
The poster is printed in A2 size with synthetic paper.
4.0: Design
The researcher used Adobe Illustrator and Krita to design the vegetables and illustrations for the task. Adobe Illustrator is used to image trace the creative common pictures of vegetables taken from websites. Meanwhile, Krita is used to add effects like luminosity, darkness, shadow, soft light layers.
The carrot is drawn and added colours. Krita is used to add the effects.

Figure 3.1.8: Making the pop up.
The cut out illustrations are pasted on the pop up paper. The heights are different for each to give the 3 dimensional effects.
Figure 3.1.9: Experimenting of pop up.
The
researcher was experimenting on how to stick the LED together with the
battery on back of the design where the viewer will interact.

Figure 3.1.14: When press the dish (switch), the LED will light up.
Red
and green lights are used to indicate the healthy and unhealthy dishes.
The viewer will be allowed to choose one. By choosing, the LED will be
given information and awareness on including vegetables daily in their
lunch.
Figure 3.1.15: The first experiment.
The
final artwork did not come out as expected since there were a lot of
errors like cutting errors, pixel errors, as well as distorted pop up.
So the researcher come out with sticking the design cut outs on a foam
board first before pasting them on the pop up papers. The black
cardboard also does not suit well since it appeared grey.

New layer is added on the existing layer and the outline of the eggplant is traced. Then, colour is added.

Figure 4.15: Doing heading for the poster in AI.
The Heading is done in font 'Century Gothic'. The 'V' in vegetables is replaced with a spinach which has the V shape to give a different effect to the word. The researcher added the nutrients value and health benefits to the poster. The style of the poster is contemporary. So the colours like yellow, blue and green are added to give the contemporary style.

The design is saved in PDF format to avoid the distortion of pixels.
5.0 Materials: Perspex, Perspex cutter, green and red LED lights, 3V batteries, Foam board, Printed layout (A2 syntethic paper), acrylic double sided tape, cutter, scissors, glue.
5.1: Process
Cut the printed layout using cutter or scissors.
Figure 5.1.1: Cut out the layouts.
Figure 5.1.2: Cutting the printed designs.
Figure 5.1.3: Cutouts.
White glue is used to stick the cut designs on a foam board.

Use a ruler and cutter to cut the foam board. Excess form board are removed later using cutter.
Figure 5.1.7: Cutting out the foam board together with the designs.
Figure 5.1.8: Cutting the spinach.
Figure 5.1.9: Finished cutting the foam boards.
The foam board allows the design to not bend like previous experiment and make the design to look attractive to the eyes.
After that, LED lights are attached at the behind of the dish where the viewers will interact with. The battery was pasted on a small folded paper by double sided tape. One end of the LED light is attached to the battery while other is attached to the other side of paper. When the viewer touch the dish, it allows the positive end on LED to touch the battery and completes the circuit.

This pop up poster is interactive because the viewer will be interact with the poster to choose the healthy meals and indicated by the lights, red and green. The poster also has information on health benefits as well as nutrients that obtained through eating vegetables daily during lunch. Through this task, the researcher learned how to design a proper poster and how to do a pop up version of poster using foam board and perspex. The researcher also learned that contemporary style is simple and colourful when delivering message to others.
