A visit to Gallery Shah Alam

On May 17th 2017, The faculty of AAVA and graphic design students had a visit to Gallery Shah Alam for exhibition LAKAR SA PA.

The exhibition is based on the expidition done by 9 artists to SaPa, Vietnam under Visual Arts exploration, and creating artworks through expidition, expression and visual.

The curator of this project is Mrs Rosyida Mohd Rozlan, who worked on planning the entire journey organization and in giving instruction for other artists on the project. She is also had role on doing documentation and doing on research before the journey. She also monitored the artists during the production of artworks and collection of them to be exhibited in gallery. An art curator's role is multitasking as he or she is responsible for gallery's collection, selecting art to be displayed, organizing art exhibitions in galleries, researching artists, and writing catalog (Kendzulak, S, 2017)

Artworks are produced based on journey, expedition and on different elements like visual, smell, sound, colour, texture and so on.

Elements found in this artwork are texture and lines. It also uses cold colours like blue and purple on black background gives a calm effect. The texture is created by multiple arcylic paint painted without mixing with water and with thick amount. The lines are curvy lines which resembles the shape of mountains and lanscape found in Sa Pa place.
