Research on Demography of Kajang, Selangor

Kajang is a sub-district at eastern part of Selangor and capital of Hulu Langat District, Selangor, Malaysia. It is established on 1807. The area is covered around  304.1 mi². Some of the surrounding places to Kajang are Bandar Baru Bangi, Putrajaya, University Putra Malaysia, University Kebangsaan Malaysia, Bandar Teknologi Kajang, Semenyih and Serdang.  (googlemaps.com, 2017)

Kajang is often associated with trademark satay (type of food). Kajang is also known as K-town by hip hop fans, due to larger number of rappers and hip hop groups auditioned for TV shows. According to Lisa on 2014, Kajang population stands at 432,657 and consists of 60.4% of Malays, 19.3% Chinese, 9.7% Indians, and 10.6% other ethnic groups. The estimated growth of Kajang town population is 9% per annum.

New developments in Kajang are upcoming of Klang Valley MRT station and Kajang 2 and building of road bridge connecting this place which also known as Bandar Teknologi.
