Report (word.docx)

1.0: Making of metal sculpture
Materials: metal wire, steel/iron rod, measuring tape
Method: Cutting and bending the rod, Welding
Steps:
1) Make a small model from a thin metal wire.

Figure 1.1.1: Metal wire sculpture (Model)

2) Get the real measurement of sculpture based on availability of space, length and height.

3) Adjust and make correction of the measurement before starting the work.

4) Using a measuring tape, measure the diameter of base and mark it on ground with a marker or chalk.

5) Put the metal on the mark and shape it according to the mark. Clamp it on ground with cellophane tape to avoid it moving.
6) Tie rope from one end to another to allow the metal stand firm on ground.

 7) For the inner of circle, cut the steel according to required length and weld it together with main steel. Make sure to practice safety precautions during welding by covering eyes with goggle and wearing gloves.

Follow up after one week.
Due to space unavailability and  technical error, the entire sculpture had to shrink by 2 and half feet.
8) Edging iron rods are added inside the circle of big ring to strengthen it.

9) Build the upper part of sculpture. The base should be heavier than the upper part therefore, the iron rods used at the base is heavier than the one on up.

2.0 Materials and Equipments used in making the sculpture

1) Iron rod which was 15 meters long cut into desired lengths.

2) Chipping tool is used to brush off metal leftovers after welding.

3) Metal grinder is used to cut the iron rod.

4) Metal clamp is used to clamp 2 metal rods during welding to secure its position.

5) Iron rod bender is used to bend an iron rod.

6) UV Mask/ Iron welding mask is used to protect the eyes from high voltage of UV light during welding. Avoid looking at the sparks directly during welding.
